VAN Is the Best I Could Come Up With

Hey. Wow. It sure has been a long time since I've blogged about anything. It's not that nothing has been going on, it's just that I have had no motivation to blog recently. The weird part is a couple things have happened recently that I probably should be talking about. But therein lies the problem. Should I talk about all of it in this blog and totally blow my load? Or should I split it up and write a couple postings using the material I have been saving up? I think if I had my way I would at this point say something like "I don't know what I should do. I guess I'll take a few days to think about it and then come back to you." Then try to trick you, the reader, into thinking that I was not gonna tell my new stories. Yet I would still end up tell the stories. So the trick would not work as you would have already seen that the blog has not come to an end yet and there would be more to read. So it seems like that solves it. Heregoes.

Last Sunday I bought a Nintendo DSi and then on Wednesday me and my old roommate brewed a new batch of beer.

Damn, I have nothing else to say. I wasted a week on just one sentence. Oh well, I guess I could elaborate or something.

The new beer is looking to be a much lighter beer then the past few that we have brewed. We used a much lighter malt then before. It should be a sort of light, crisp Pale Ale. Very hoppy of course. We think that our past brews have been hampered by not fermenting enough. So this new one will have a two week fermentation and will include a secondary fermentation. I wasn't involved in buying the ingredients this time, but when my roommate went he took a bottle of our last brew. The guy working there sampled it and have him the idea of the secondary fermentation. Oh, also, it's not just the two of us this time. One of his new roommates is joining for this batch. His name starts with an "A". That's gonna be hard to work with.

The DSi rocks. I can make flip book animations on it. That one little game is worth having the whole system. The Dr. Mario and other puzzle games are pretty great too. I think I'm gonna go play it now. OK, not really. I am actually gonna go install a hard wood floor now.

The Countdown Begins

Hi. What on earth is my problem. Every day once it gets past about 9 o'clock I start to fall asleep. I know, lame right. But that doesn't really matter right now. What actually matters is that today is March 19th. And you know what that means. It's only nine months and six days left till Christmas!!! Sweet right.

I just got done watching Alice in Wonderland with my gf. I haven't seen it in at least 15 years. The new movie spiked my interest and therefore I wanted to see the old one again before seeing the new version. It made me realize two things. First, Alice in Wonderland is an f'ed up movie. And second, I really hate VHS and am very glad for the advent of DVD and Blu-Ray. I mean the picture looked terrible and the sound quality left much to be desired. Lets not even get started on having to rewind. Seriously, who wants to press the rewind button after having finished a movie? I know I sure don't want to.

Oh Yeahhhh!!!!!

Hi. Well so much for blogging on a regular schedule. I guess I just haven't had much to talk about lately. So here are a couple things that may or may not interest you. I think I want to start a collection of PEZ dispensers. Why? I don't know really. I guess it's just because I like the candy and I like holiday themed PEZ. Therefore, at many holidays I tend to seek out a new dispenser. Recently I got a Santa Claus one and a duck one. The duck was for Easter. It wasn't just some random duck or anything weird like that.

I am starting to get a little bit bored by video games. I know right. Who saw that coming. Haha. But seriously, I just cannot get interested in playing them again. The other day I bought Mega Man 10 on the Wii. I've played it for like two hours since Saturday and it has yet to really hook me. It is a great game and I did beat it, but it was on easy mode. That hardly counts. I got into NBA Courtside 2002 a week or two ago and that was the only game I really got into in the past month or so. I mean, Sonic Mega Collection was alright and I did play alot of Mega Man Anniversary Collection. So it's not like I've stopped playing video games. It's just that there hasn't been anything that has hooked me as much as Fire Emblem or Excite Truck. Maybe I should get Need for Speed Undercover. I love racing games. You know what? I am going to go look up prices for it on Ebay and Amazon right now. Maybe some other time I will talk about my new found enthusiasm for movie soundtracks and the Kool-Aid Man.

Feel Better, Cat Brother

Hey. Couple things I would like to talk about tonight. First, isn't it crazy how you can not watch a movie for years and then still remember scenes from it. I'm watching The Lost World: Jurassic Park right now. Its probably been five years since I've watched it last. While I can't quote every line, there is a ton I still remember. Granted, I watched it a ton as a kid. I'm sure that plays a part somewhere. Also, did you know Vince Vaughn was in it? I did, but it's kinda weird now to watch him in it. When it first came out I had no idea who Vince Vaughn was. It was long before Wedding Crashers and I hadn't seen Swingers yet. I don't know, I guess it's just weird to watch him in an action movie and not a comedy. Plus he looks so young. Kinda weird.

For some sad news. My cat Fluffy seems a little sicker then normal tonight. He is 15 years old and has had diabetes for 8 or so years now. So he hasn't exactly been healthy for a while. Tonight was just a worse night then normal. He threw up all over my blanket. Then he cowered in fear when any of us tried to touch him afterwards. Poor kitty.

Well, it's probably been a long time coming, but it's now the best time to reveal something about myself. Those of you who have known me for a long time might be shocked so be prepared. I now like the Smashing Pumpkins.

I know, I know. After years of hating them and claiming they suck I now embrace the musical vision of Billy Corgan. It happened based on two songs. The band is now releasing a 44 song album, one song at a time. The first two songs were fantastic. Enough to make me change my opinion on the band as a whole. After listening to the newest addition to the album, my new opinion is confirmed. I guess it's now time for me to bend over and take the "I told you so"s that I now so blatantly deserve.

I Can't Get "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" Out Of My Head

Hi. Just a quick one tonight. I just wanted to let everyone know that the Dazed and Confused soundtrack rocks. It is a fantastic gateway to getting into many great classic rock bands. There Are Thirteen Land Before Time Movies. No Joke.

Hey, big news. Bruce Willis is freaking awesome. Yea it's true, he rocks. Hard. I bring this up because of Back to the Future. See, Bruce Willis has nothing to do with Back to the Future and yet it all ties together. You'll just have to read on to find out how.

When ever I hear talk about best movie trilogy the majority of the discussion goes to either the original Star Wars or the Lord of the Rings. Personally I really like the original Star Wars trilogy. It defined a large part of my childhood. The movies, toys, video games, books and I'm pretty sure there was more. In fact I liked Star Wars from elementary school up until around the start of college. Since then I have had very little interest in Star Wars. I guess I just out grew it. On the other hand, I never liked the Lord of the Rings. Ever. I've never made it through any of the movies in one straight shot and I probably never will. Just too boring to hold my interest I guess. So out of the two, the edge would have to go to Star Wars.

Now lets bring up some other movie trilogies. The Matrix, Jurassic Park, Austin Powers, Spiderman, The Godfather, The Mighty Ducks, Ocean's, Robocop, Evil Dead, Friday and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I'm not counting TMNT. The first three were live action and they count as the trilogy. And yes, I know that it continues the story from the others, but no. I've made my decision already. It doesn't count). Most of those trilogies have at least one good movie in them, and in some case two or all are great. Lets face it, Jurassic Park rocks. The thing is, none of those trilogies are good enough to be the best ever. Well, The Godfather probably does, but it never connected with me the way some of the others did.

So. Guess what my favorite two trilogies of all time are. That's right, it comes down to The Land Before Time 1-3 verses The Land Before Time 4-6. Who would have thought they would make so many of those movies. OK, seriously now the two are Back to the Future and Die Hard. (Hey look, Bruce Willis was in Die Hard. That's what I was talking about at first). We all know I love Back to the Future, so that gets number one. That's it. No more discussion for now. But don't worry, it won't be long before I bring up the debate of what is better Back to the Future 2 or 3. The first is obviously the best, but what will get second place. Stay tuned to a future blog post to find out.
